Privacy policy

A-i.Quebec (a-i.quebec) sells digital images, videos and audio albums, offers online colouring pages and makes personalised videos. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada's federal law (PIPEDA).

1. Person in charge

The person in charge of the protection of personal information is the owner of A-i.Quebec. For any question or request: saleinfo@a-i.quebec (subject "Privacy").

2. Information we collect

  • Your account: email address, password (stored only in an irreversible encrypted form), creation and login dates, IP address at sign-up and at your last login, and the approximate location (city, region, country) derived from that address.
  • Your purchases: products bought, amount, date, Stripe payment identifiers, IP address at the time of purchase and your download history (date, IP address, browser). We never see or keep your card number.
  • Your personalised videos: the texts you enter (message, recipient's first name, sender's name, card texts, voice text) and, if you choose, the recipient's email address.
  • Your colouring pages: if you send a creation to the gallery, the image and, if you wish, a first name.
  • Your browsing: for our statistics, the IP address, the page visited and the date.
  • Security: login attempts (email address entered and IP address), to block attacks.

We do not sell, rent or trade any personal information, and we do not do targeted advertising.

3. Why we use it

  • to create and manage your account, deliver your purchases, and make and send your personalised videos;
  • to process payments, prevent fraud and handle refunds;
  • to protect the site against bots and hacking attempts;
  • to produce overall traffic statistics to improve the site;
  • to write to you about your account or your purchases. We do not send newsletters.

4. Cookies and storage in your browser

  • Session cookie: keeps you logged in during your visit; it is deleted when you close the browser. It is essential for the site to work.
  • langue_preferee: remembers the language you chose, for 180 days.
  • Local storage: the draft of your personalised video and your colouring progress stay on your device; they are not sent to us.
  • Third-party services: Google reCAPTCHA (login and sign-up pages) and the Metricool audience measurement tool may set their own cookies. On the home page only, embedded posts from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode), Facebook, Instagram or TikTok may also set cookies, under their own policies.

We do not use Google Analytics. The advertising banners on the site are simple images hosted on our server.

5. Hosting and service providers

The site and its data are hosted on our dedicated server at OVH, in Canada. The approximate location of an IP address is calculated on that server with a local database: the address is never sent to a geolocation service. Our emails are sent from our own server.

Some providers receive information to deliver a specific service. Some are located outside Québec:

  • Stripe (payments; Canada, United States and other countries): receives what you enter on its payment page. We only send it the order number, the product title and the amount.
  • OpenAI (United States): produces the synthetic voice of personalised videos from the voice text, which may contain first names. Under its API terms, these texts are not used to train its models.
  • Google reCAPTCHA (United States): technical analysis of the browser to tell humans from bots.
  • Metricool (Spain): audience statistics.
  • Google (United States): some internal notices, for example a new account being created (email address and approximate location), arrive in the administrator's mailbox, which is hosted by Google.

We also disclose information when the law requires it.

6. What other people can see

  • Personalised video: anyone who has its secret link can watch it. The link is not indexed by search engines; share it only with the people you choose. A "Report" button lets you alert us.
  • Colouring gallery: a creation is published only after review, with the first name provided, if any. If you are under 14, ask a parent before sending a creation, and never write your last name or your address.
  • Streaming-only videos: they show the buyer's email address as a watermark, to discourage unauthorised sharing.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account: as long as it exists. An account that was never confirmed may be deleted.
  • Purchases and downloads: as long as your account exists (so you can access your purchases again), and as required by our accounting and tax obligations.
  • Personalised videos: the video file and its link are deleted one year after payment. The recipient's email address is deleted as soon as the email is sent; only an irreversible fingerprint is kept to honour a request to stop receiving videos. Orders never paid are deleted after 2 days, and voice previews never ordered after 3 days.
  • Visit statistics: the IP address is deleted after 12 months.
  • Login attempts: 90 days.
  • Anti-abuse counters: 2 days.
  • Colouring gallery: until you ask for your creation to be removed.

8. Security

Encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords never stored in plain text, restricted administration access, private files kept outside the public part of the site, temporary links and backups. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned.

9. Your rights

You can ask to access your information, correct it, delete it, withdraw your consent, or receive a copy in a structured, commonly used technological format. Write to saleinfo@a-i.quebec, preferably from your account's address; we reply within 30 days. To delete your account, make the request the same way. You can also file a complaint with Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information.

10. Facebook, Instagram and other social networks

A-i.Quebec uses a Meta app ("A-i Publications") only to publish its own content on its own Facebook and Instagram pages. This app collects no information about the site's visitors or about Facebook or Instagram users, and the site does not offer login with a Facebook account.

Data deletion: since this app keeps no data about Facebook or Instagram users, there is nothing to delete on that side. For any question, or to have your A-i.Quebec account deleted, write to saleinfo@a-i.quebec.

11. Changes

We will update this policy if our practices change. The date below shows the latest version.

Image generator

When you use our image generator, the description you write is sent to OpenAI (United States) to produce the image, together with our own style reference images — never anything about you. If the chosen style uses a trained style, the description also goes to fal.ai (United States) for the same purpose. The description is also checked automatically against OpenAI’s content filter before anything is created. We keep your images and their descriptions in your account so you can download them again, until you ask us to delete them or your account is deleted.
